Laser Etching
Permanent, high-precision laser marking and etching for traceability, branding, and decorative applications on plastic and metal components.
Overview
Keiteq Direct provides laser etching and laser marking services using fibre and CO₂ laser systems. Laser marking produces permanent, high-contrast marks without consumables — ideal for serial numbers, barcodes, QR codes, logos, and regulatory markings that must remain legible throughout the product's service life. Unlike pad printing or labels, laser marks cannot be rubbed off, chemically removed, or counterfeited. We mark plastic, aluminium, stainless steel, anodised aluminium, and coated metal surfaces.
Capabilities
- Fibre laser marking on metals (aluminium, steel, stainless, brass, copper)
- CO₂ laser marking and engraving on plastics and coated surfaces
- Serial numbers, date codes, and batch traceability marks
- 1D barcodes, 2D Data Matrix, and QR codes
- Logo engraving and decorative surface texturing
- Annealing marks on stainless steel (no material removal)
- Deep engraving for mould inserts and tooling
- Automated marking integrated with production lines
How we work
Our Process
Mark Design & Programming
Customer artwork, text, or data matrix specifications are programmed into the laser controller. Mark position, depth, and contrast are optimised for the substrate.
First-Article Verification
First-article marks are inspected for legibility, contrast, and dimensional accuracy. Barcodes and QR codes are verified with a grade-A scanner.
Production Marking
Parts are fixtured for repeatable positioning. The laser system marks each part automatically. Variable data (serial numbers, date codes) is generated from a controlled sequence.
Inspection & Traceability
Marked parts are inspected and barcode/QR code readability is verified. Marking records are retained for full traceability.
Why choose us
Key Benefits
Permanent & Tamper-Proof
Laser marks are permanent — they cannot be rubbed off, chemically removed, or counterfeited. Critical for automotive, medical, and aerospace traceability requirements.
No Consumables
Unlike pad printing or labels, laser marking requires no inks, pads, or adhesives. Lower running cost and no risk of ink adhesion failure.
High Precision
Laser spot sizes of 20–100 µm enable extremely fine text, high-density barcodes, and intricate decorative patterns.
Non-Contact Process
No mechanical contact with the part surface — no distortion, no tooling wear, and no risk of damage to delicate features.
Variable Data Capability
Serial numbers, date codes, and unique identifiers can be generated automatically for each part, enabling full unit-level traceability.
ISO 9001:2015 Quality System
All laser marking processes are controlled under our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system with full traceability and inspection records.
